We are seeking a Research Scientist and Lecturer in Data Science and Analytics in Atmospheric Air Pollution. This is a joint appointment between the National Centre for Atmospheric Science (NCAS) and the University of Manchester. The NCAS Research Scientist in Data Science and Analytics in Atmospheric Science (50%) and Lecturer in the University of Manchester’s Department of Earth and Environmental Science (50%) at the University of Manchester is part of an exciting new development in data science and analytics.
We are seeking a data scientist with an outstanding record of research and with a track record of applying data science methodologies to complex challenges in atmospheric science. You will be expected to help develop data science approaches to address research challenges that interface with NCAS’ strengths in air pollution, emissions and measurement science to target the important challenges of human health and air pollution and responses to structural and societal changes that arise through the UK drive towards net zero carbon. In this post you would contribute to the delivery of teaching on the Environmental Analytics pathway of a new Data Science MSc at the University of Manchester.
