This accessibility statement applies to the National Centre for Atmospheric Science website.

We provide this information to assist with using the National Centre for Atmospheric Science website, and to cover common questions. If your query isn’t covered here, if you have any suggestions or comments, or if you need further assistance, please contact us at comms@ncas.ac.uk.

This website is run by the National Centre for Atmospheric Science. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • zoom in up to 200% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
  • view text descriptions for non-decorative images
  • view pages at different browser window sizes, as page layout will reflow

We’ve also made most of the website text as simple as possible to understand, and chosen not to provide any information in PDF documents unless it is also available in HTML format.

How accessible this website is

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:

  • we are not certain that you can navigate the website using speech recognition software
  • some pages are not written in plain english and use technical language
  • you cannot easily alter the colour contrast or fonts used

We will be carrying out a full accessibility audit in the next twelve months to identify further issues and work towards a more accessible platform.

Some of our PDFs and Word documents are provided as print friendly versions of website content, and are not fully accessible.

However, any content in these PDFs and Word documents is also provided as accessible HTML pages.
