Freedom of Information requests to the National Centre for Atmospheric Science.

We aim to be as open as possible about all of our activities and how they are carried out.

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (‘The Act’) anyone can request information about what we do and how we do it. Some of our information falls under the Environmental Information Regulations 2004, which provides broadly similar access rights to The Act but relates specifically to information about the environment.

You are entitled to see any personal information we hold about you under the Data Protection Act 1998. We comply with the requirements of the Data Protection Act with regard to the collection, storage, processing and disclosure of personal information. Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we might need to keep and what we do with it.

We will make all information freely available unless there is a good reason for us not to, in line with relevant exemptions under the legislation.

If you can’t find what you are looking for on our website, you can make a request for information to us via our Contact page. Our activities are carried out across 12 universities and research institutes in the UK, so your request will be passed on to the relevant host organisation.
