Event: Early Careers Symposium
This spring, National Centre for Atmospheric Science is hosting their Early Careers Symposium – a two-day event of workshops, presentations and discussions.
12 – 13 March 2026
NCAS Headquarters, University of Leeds
Titled ‘Harmony in the Skies’, the symposium aims to bridge horizons in Earth system science by providing a welcoming, inclusive and inspiring space for people of varied levels and areas of expertise to network, share ideas, and learn from each other. The event is not targeting just researchers – anyone early in their atmospheric and other Earth system science is welcome. You might be a student or PDRA, you might have finished your studies recently or come from another line of work or a different field – if you consider yourself new to the community, this symposium is for you!
The theme of this year’s symposium is Progress. This includes areas such as scientific progress and progress towards net zero, but also personal and career development, and efficient ways of working.
All symposium attendees are offered the opportunity to contribute to the programme of events either through a short talk, with a poster, or by presenting at the showcase. Abstracts are encouraged on any theme linked to their work – research, practical implementations of tools, or case studies.
Join us this March to develop and share your skills, learn about NCAS, and meet career peers, develop a network and establish yourself in the Earth system science community!
