Share your story

We’re thrilled to launch the NCAS staff stories series! This new initiative aims to create a more personalised introduction to our colleagues across NCAS, showcasing the unique stories that each of us has to tell.

We know that the corporate profiles on the NCAS website and your university department pages provide a formal and professional introduction to you and your work. While these profiles are important, they may not fully capture the essence of who we are as individuals. Through this new staff stories series, we aim to highlight your strengths, skills, unique experiences, and the contributions you bring to the workplace and beyond.

By recognising these aspects, we hope to:

  • Foster a sense of community
  • Celebrate the diversity and talent within our organization
  • Support inclusive recruitment
  • Raise awareness of atmospheric science

To ensure a consistent starting point for everyone, we have a few mandatory questions. Additionally, we’ve included some optional prompts designed to help you share more about yourself in ways that feel comfortable to you.

We invite you to participate in this exciting new series and share your story with us – anytime. Let’s get to know each other better!

If you’d prefer to think about your answers before completing the submission form, we encourage you to draft them in a document or record some voice memo responses.

A member of the Communications Team can also chat to you over the phone or a Zoom / Teams call, and capture your answers that way.

Once you’ve submitted your story answers, the Communications Team will work with you on any minor edits and make a shared plan for publishing it in our newsletter, or on our website, and via social media channels – such as LinkedIn and Instagram.

We have provided all of the mandatory questions and optional prompts to help you prepare.
