Number of years teaching or involved in training: 8
Number of years involved in NCAS training: 3
Speciality: Meteorology and Imaging
Courses:
Instructor for Atmospheric Measurement and Modelling Summer School.
Role:
I have teaching and demonstrator experience across atmospheric science, practical fieldwork, and meteorological instrumentation. My background spans an MMet in Meteorology, a PhD in Atmospheric Physics, and research roles focused on weather radar, precipitation observations, field campaigns, and novel atmospheric sensing. I have supported students in hands-on learning environments, with a particular emphasis on helping them understand how measurements are made, how instruments behave in the real world, and how observational data can be interpreted for weather and climate science.
I have contributed to the Atmospheric Measurement & Modelling Summer School as an instructor/demonstrator for UAV-based atmospheric measurements in both 2024 and 2026, supporting students in the practical use of drone platforms and environmental sensors for field observations. My teaching practice is centred on making technical concepts accessible through practical experience, encouraging students to connect theory, instrumentation, data quality, and scientific interpretation. I am particularly motivated by teaching that builds confidence in fieldwork, supports inclusive participation, and helps students develop the practical judgement needed to collect high-quality atmospheric measurements.
