Supporting biodiversity at our headquarters: A blooming example of partnership and purpose
We are proud to support biodiversity through the creation of a dedicated pollinator habitat at our headquarters in Leeds, in collaboration with the University of Leeds.
This carefully designed green space has been planted with a rich mix of wildflowers, shrubs, and herbaceous plants to provide a year-round haven for pollinators and other wildlife. The project reflects our shared commitment to supporting nature and sustainable environments in the places we work.
This initiative is a small but important example of how research organisations and universities can work together to enhance biodiversity, build climate resilience, and inspire positive change on the ground.

Funded by the National Centre for Atmospheric Science and implemented by the University of Leeds, the planting scheme is also serving as a valuable training opportunity for the University’s estates team. As the habitat matures, it will offer seasonal interest with continuous flowering, bringing colour, scent, and texture to the area throughout the year.
In addition to supporting bees, butterflies, and other pollinating insects, the beds have been mulched with bark to help conserve water and suppress weeds – an environmentally friendly choice that reinforces the project’s sustainable ethos.
