NCAS Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Survey 2024

All NCAS staff are encouraged to complete the 2024 Equality, Diversity and Inclusion survey by Monday 26 February 2024 to support improvements to workplace culture and inclusivity.

At the National Centre for Atmospheric Science, we value and respect everyone that works for us and strive for an environment where everyone is included and able to fulfil their potential. We are committed to recruiting and retaining excellence from a wide range of backgrounds, ensuring that everyone feels that they belong.

In order to understand our progress to date, and the areas we should focus on during the next stage of our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) journey, we have built on the work undertaken previously by our external partner, the Employers Network for Equality & Inclusion (enei)

As part of our focus on improvement, we committed to conducting an EDI staff survey every 2 years to gather your views on a range of issues relating to EDI at NCAS; both the good and the bad, so we can understand what our priorities should be. We want to know how you feel about working at NCAS, where we have improved and what we can do to become more inclusive.

Completing the survey

We know that 95 colleagues completed the survey in 2022 and many of the questions are repeated this year. We want to capture any changes in culture at NCAS and also give you the chance to report any changes in how you describe your identity.

Only staff members of the National Centre for Atmospheric Science can access the form. Your answers are fully confidential and will only be reviewed by the Head of People, in line with NCAS’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion data policy. The information will be used to inform activities funded by UKRI and focussed on EDI for 2024/25 such as training, mentoring and career development.

We know you are busy, and your time is valuable, and we would like to emphasise how important it is that you take the time to complete the survey, providing honest answers to the questions asked. The 15 minutes you invest in completing the survey will be crucial to identifying priorities for the organisation as well as supporting us to promote a fair and inclusive working environment.

We encourage all staff to please complete the survey by Monday 26 February 2024.

If you have any concerns or questions about the survey please contact Lisa Banton, Head of People, EDI and Workforce Development for an informal chat or leave anonymous feedback. We look forward to sharing the results of the survey and the actions we will be taking to make NCAS an even better place to work.
