These courses have been delivered as part of previous NCAS training programmes.
While they are not currently scheduled, they reflect the breadth of expertise across our community and may help inform future training opportunities.
Practical Aerosol Science
The Practical Aerosol Science course provided a combination of theory and hands-on laboratory training, giving participants experience of aerosol properties, measurement techniques, and the application of state-of-the-art aerosol instrumentation.
The course leads were Dr Paul Williams and Professor James Allan, at NCAS and the University of Manchester.
WRF/MPAS Tutorials
WRF/MPAS Tutorials provided hands-on training in the MPAS-Atmosphere, MPAS-JEDI and Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) models, combining expert-led lectures, practical modelling exercises and opportunities to engage with an international community of atmospheric scientists and developers.
The course lead was Dr Ralph Burton, at NCAS and the University of Leeds.
